Easy Button Owls Craft for Preschoolers – Printable Template Included!

This craft (template included!) is super easy and fun for preschoolers.

Every week at school we have a special theme, and we usually do a craft that relates to that theme.  This week we studied nocturnal animals. I brought in a book with photos of very cute foxes and close ups of super creepy bats. I mentally told myself not to flip to the page with the tarantula…ugh!

For our craft, we made these little button owls.

Button Owls 🙂

I am congratulating myself for coming up with a craft that involves zero paint, few parts, and is basic enough that the kids were able to follow along. When we were done there was no green paint on the walls and no frog legs glued into frog mouths.

Last week’s craft = hilarious. Abstract artists in the making.

The biggest artistic license this week was with a little four eyed owl…along with a few other goofy guys.

And all in all I think they turned out so cute.

I cut out the bodies, wings and beaks from construction paper using a template I found online.

I gave them buttons for the eyes, then let the little guys glue it all together!
